Christine Maryanna Gabriel is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of clinical experience in Malaysia and the United States. She specializes in working with couples, families, and individuals navigating trauma, relationship challenges, multicultural issues, and major life transitions. Christine’s approach is grounded in systemic therapy, helping clients explore how relationships, identities, and cultural contexts shape their experiences and wellbeing.
Alongside her clinical practice, Christine is actively involved in teaching and training the next generation of mental health professionals as a psychology lecturer. She has contributed to the field internationally, presenting at conferences in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries, sharing insights on systemic practice, gender, and mental health.
Christine’s passion lies in nurturing collective healing, amplifying marginalized voices, and addressing the systemic forces that shape people’s lives. She works through a social justice and intersectional lens, guiding clients to understand how power, privilege, culture, and community influence their stories. Rather than focusing solely on individual change, she collaborates with clients to co-create transformations that extend into families, workplaces, and communities.
She is deeply committed to community mental health as a pathway to collective wellbeing and liberation. Christine frequently facilitates dialogues and workshops on mental health awareness, workplace wellbeing, gender justice, and the intersections of culture, class, and identity. Her work invites participants to reflect on their place within the wider social fabric and to imagine new ways of relating that center dignity, solidarity, and care for one another.
