Joy Sapphira is a trainee counsellor currently pursuing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds a Bachelor of Psychology from Sunway University. Her approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, which is rooted in the belief that with acceptance and support, individuals can reconnect with their strengths and build meaningful lives. She integrates elements of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy to support clients facing emotional distress, relational challenges, and a loss of direction or purpose. Joy’s goal is to guide clients to greater clarity and to navigate their life in a way that feels fulfilling both internally and externally.
At the heart of her practice is a deep commitment in helping individuals rediscover hope, meaning, and purpose — especially during times of uncertainty, struggle, or self-doubt. She strives to create a safe and collaborative space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to reconnect with their inner strengths and live more authentic, fulfilling lives. She goes by the philosophy that “When you are walking in a dark tunnel and can’t find the light, walk with someone who has a torch until you can find that light on your own. Even in the darkest night there is a star which shines through until that darkness ends and the sun rises.”
